The Festival’s Poetry Jam was on the Community Stage and offered our local poets a chance for to share their passion and art with the community AND offered the community the opportunity to be inspired by our local poets. Some suggested poetry topics were those that follow in line with the Festival’s message: healthy living, healthy communities, and a healthy planet or any social justice issue.
A poetry jam works by allowing aspiring and professional poets the opportunity to get on stage and share their work. It can take the form of a dramatic reading, a simple recitation, with music or without, whatever best represents the poem! Just keep in mind there is a time-limit of 10 minutes per poet.
After the Poetry Jam… there was also a Mindful Meditation Flash Mob……
Mindful Meditation Flash Mob@3pm – 3:50pm on the back patio near the Community Room. We hope you felt the benefits of stopping, breathing, and calming. Our aim is to find peace within and offer it out to our world. Led by Alexa Singer-Telles Dharma Teacher in the lineage of Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village
