The Whole Earth and Watershed Festival is proud to be partnering with the Redding March For Science!
The Redding, California March for Science welcomes people from all walks of life and warmly invites you to join us on April 22, 2017 in downtown Redding to show your support for fact-based policy, scientific endeavors and education. Please join us!
We will gather at the south end of the downtown Promenade from 10:00-10:30 and begin the 1.5 mile march at 11am. The march will end at the Whole Earth and Watershed Festival at Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall with a short rally. After the march, be sure to enjoy the line-up of speakers, activities and visit the over 140 Exhibitors at the Festival who are all working to promot healthy living, build healthy communities, and restore a healthy planet. Don’t forget to stop at the Science Matters Booth staffed by March organizers ready to share information about what you can do to support science in our community, our state, and our country. There is a FREE RABA shuttle to get you back to the downtown terminal operating ALL DAY!
The organizers of the Redding, California March for Science warmly welcome scientists, science enthusiasts, and members of the public to come together in recognition of all the ways science touches our lives and betters our communities. Organizers of the national March for Science tout the event as, “a celebration of our passion for science and a call to support and safeguard the scientific community…we are scientists and science enthusiasts. We come from all races, all religions, all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all socioeconomic backgrounds, all political perspectives, and all nationalities…What unites us is a love of science, and an insatiable curiosity. We all recognize that science is everywhere and affects everyone”. The Redding March for Science strives to celebrate diversity of opinion, experience, and interest in the sciences and invites you, the reader, to join us for an afternoon of conversation and comradery.
